Something I've enjoyed over the years is belonging to a book club. An American women's expat group I belong to has had one running for years and I've always found the gathering restorative and life enhancing. This year I volunteered to be the organizer and host. Despite my life taking a bit of busy turn in February, it's well worth the effort.
Of course we talk about the book, but as I suspect with many women's book clubs, we quickly veer into other topics. The conversation spans the gamut of lively, boisterous, sometimes even heated, but never boring! Another enjoyable aspect of the meeting is the food and libations. Ours is a sort of pot-luck affair, usually leaving me with several extra bottles of wine as well as requests for recipes for whatever the main dish has been that evening.
Last week we read Sad Desk Salad by Jessica Grose. To go with the book, we had a Sad Desk Salad Bar. Several members asked me for the recipe of the Balsamic vinaigrette I made to go along with the salad. It's my go-to vinaigrette recipe and it's also ridiculously easy.
I designed a printable recipe template sometime ago. I promised my fellow club members I would send it around, and thought 'Why not share the goodness with the world?'
