Advent Candle Printables

Today is the first day of Advent! I don't remember seeing these in America, but in Germany they're a big deal. Basically each Advent Sunday a new candle is lit for the new week. There are four weeks total, and a set of Advent candles has four candles, ranging from very tall to very short. The idea being that the first (tall) candle burns the longest (through all four weeks) and the fourth candle (the shortest) burns for just one week, so at the end all candles are relatively the same size. e.m.papers Thanksgiving Pinterest Board

Ah, Fall. As the weather gets cold and crisp and the days get shorter my attention turns to the winter holidays, starting with Thanksgiving.Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, and despite living in Germany for around sixteen (!) years, I always find a way to celebrate. Whether it's making a simple dinner for myself and my husband, hosting friends or going to friends houses for a potluck meal. I've got a Thanksgiving pinterest board which I add pins to all year round. It's a great source of inspiration. It's full of yummy and innovative recipes like sweet potato cornbread and pumpkin panna cotta tart as well as helpful infographics on how much food to plan. It's also chock full of...

Since this is a pretty loud font, it's best to use it sparingly and pare it with a low key sans-serif font like Futura or Lato. You can see how I've used it on the Retro Chalkboard printable wedding invitation design below: I've used Master of Break with the Futura-like typeface Twentieth Century to create a wedding invitation that really pops. The couple sending these invites out is excited to be getting married...

Happy Deviled Egg Day!

You know what today is, don't you? Why yes, it's deviled egg day. Deviled eggs not be for everyone, but I LOVE them. In celebration of this momentous holiday, I thought I'd share a great recipe with you: Sriracha Deviled Eggs. This is a quick and dirty recipe (my favorite kind!) that can be whipped up in under half an hour. Make a couple for yourself, or make several for a party platter. INGREDIENTS:EggsSrirachaMayonnaise INSTRUCTIONS:Here's the part where you see that I'm not a food blogger. I eyeball everything. Hard boil some eggs. After cooling and peeling the eggs, slice in half lengthwise, and place the hardened yolks into a bowl. Add a little mayonnaise and Sriracha and stir up...
