I'm doing some product development around my printable wedding invitations (trying to make them easier and less complicated to produce.) Designing and producing most of the stationery for my own wedding has convinced me that there is no reason why beautiful, easy-to-make at home, printable wedding stationery (wedding invitations, wedding menus, wedding place cards, thank you cards) is a silly proposition.
Our invitations (first pic) were, in fact, printed letterpress (but only because my Dad is a letterpress printer!) but the rest was all designed and produced by me (and my husband) with some craft-paper from the local office supply store and our ancient HP960c Deskjet printer. The image above displays clockwise from right: our printable wedding menu cover and inside - this was just regular weight paper printed on both sides and the folded on the landscape side, our printable thank you cards which I using one of our professional photography images, and then printed it and folded it twice to make a card, and our place cards - simple tents which we printed ten to a page, then and cut out and folded using regular weight paper. The image below is one our photographer took...not too shabby - especially considering how quick and affordable to produce it all was.
